Does anyone know if I can wire my remote controlled ceiling fan so that we dont have to use the remote?

We bought a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan with a remote control kit for our bedroom since the light switch didn't have a separate fan switch. We decided after a few months it was just too big and put it in the livingroom. We actually have the fan and light switch in there. Can we use the fan and wire it like any regular one without having to use the remote? Do we have to use it?? Unfortunatley we lost the instructions and I looked online and can't figure it out. Thansk!
